Young Scholars is currently accepting applications for the 2024-25 school year.
APPLICATION PROCESS for 2024-25:
As a public charter school, we accept applications for any student in 6th and 7th grade who lives in Philadelphia. If we receive more applications than we have spots available, then we will hold a lottery containing all the names of submitted complete applications. Please review our application process and upcoming dates below.
1) Application for Admission - Complete and submit the application online through Apply Philly Charter by Monday, January 22, 2024.
2) Information Sessions - We recommend that families attend an information session to learn more about Young Scholars Charter School. Please email [email protected] for details.
3) Lottery - If there are more applicants than spaces available, students will be entered into a lottery and chosen at random. Entry into our lottery is contingent upon the application being submitted by Monday, January 22nd. The lottery will be held online through the Apply Philly Charter application system on February 7th. Please note that the lottery does not require family attendance. Applicants who were offered a seat through the lottery will be notified on February 9th via email through Apply Philly Charter. Applicants will also be able to login-in to their Apply Philly Charter account on February 9th to view application results, Students not selected in the lottery will be placed on our waitlist. Waitlists do not carry over year to year.
4) Enrollment - Applicants who were offered a seat through the lottery will have until February 23rd, 2024 to accept their seat offer on Apply Philly Charter by clicking "accept" in their Apply Philly Charter accounts. Parents/guardians must submit required enrollment materials including proof of residency documents by March 20th, 2024. We look forward to receiving your application.
