Who We Are: Our School Walk through the doors of the Young Scholars Charter School on any given day and you will find students participating in analytic discussions of short stories, discovering advanced algebraic concepts, and designing catapults to learn the physics of motion. In addition you will find an environment that fosters creativity, both for individuals and the school community. Here, students collaborate on a mural project in their art room, dramatize a scene from a novel to better understand the characters, and create animated films using one of the school's two portable laptop computer labs. Serving over 200 students, Young Scholars is an academically accelerated middle school that emphasizes reading and language arts, mathematics and science. But what truly makes Young Scholars unique is the sense of community shared by students, families, faculty, and staff. All involved with our school invest in the intellectual and emotional growth of our children as they explore the world academically, culturally, and socially.
