Uniform Hardship
If your family is experiencing hardship (homelessness, unstable housing, loss of employment, laundering needs, etc.) and you are unable to purchase school uniforms, please reach out directly to members of our Culture or Counseling Teams.

Violations of the Uniform Policy
Students who are in violation of some aspect of the uniform policy (but not severely) will be issued a  paycheck deduction and same day lunch detention. Repeated violations of the uniform policy will result in more severe disciplinary consequences and administrative interventions, including but not limited to, after school detentions, in school suspensions, and mandatory parent conferences. Students who are egregiously out of uniform will have their parent/guardian contacted and will not be permitted to class until their proper attire is brought to school. This can also result in a full day in school suspension.

Students with excessive uniform violations will not be permitted to participate in Dress Down Days.
Dress Down Guidelines
Correct PE  uniform On occasion students earn the opportunity to dress down. Anytime a student is issued a dress down day they will receive a written notice that is required to be signed by the parent verifying notice of permission to dress down and agreement to adhere to the guidelines for dressing down.

Dress Down days are a great privilege and opportunity for students to express their individual style and comfort. However, all students must adhere to the following dress-down guidelines in order to remain within the professional expectations of Young Scholars.

The following clothing items are prohibited (not allowed):
  • Excessively tight or excessively baggy pants/jeans/shorts/skirts including tights/leggings/jeggings
  • See-through and/or Ripped clothing (i.e. cut up shirts, fishnet stockings, excessively ripped jeans)
    • Modest fray and rips permitted only at the knee of jeans
  • Shorts and Skirts shorter than just above the knee
  • Crop top/cut-off/tied up shirts or shirts with low necklines
  • No Tank top or Sleeveless shirts
  • Clothing with direct or implied inappropriate language, gestures, or images
  • Flip-flop shoes/crocs/ backless shoes/ high heeled shoes (more than 1 inch)
  • Outerwear and hats are not allowed to be worn in the school building at anytime
    • Light/fashion jackets allowed (ex. denim jacket)

Any student who egregiously violates the dress down guidelines listed above will earn a uniform violation deduction and potentially lose future dress down privileges.

In extreme violation cases, the student may not be permitted to class until the proper attire is brought to school by a parent or guardian. We encourage all students to err on the side of caution by bringing their uniform to school just in case they need to change.
