Young Scholars will accept applications for the 2020-21 school year beginning September 28, 2019.

As a public charter school, we accept applications for any student in 6th and 7th grade who lives in Philadelphia. If we receive more applications than we have spots available, then we will hold a lottery containing all the names of submitted complete applications. Please review our application process and all the upcoming dates.

1) Application for Admission - Complete and submit the application online through Apply Philly Charter by Monday, January 27, 2020.

2) Information Sessions - We recommend that families attend an information session to learn more about Young Scholars Charter School. Dates of information sessions will be released after February 19th.

3) Lottery - Because we are not selective, if there are more applicants than spaces available, students will be entered into a lottery and chosen at random. Entry into our lottery is contingent upon the application being submitted by Monday, January 27th. Young Scholars’ lottery will be held electronically through the SchoolMint application system on Friday, February 14th at 5 PM.  Please note that the lottery does not require family attendance. Students not selected in the lottery will be placed on our waitlist. Waitlists do not carry over year to year.

4) Enrollment - Acceptance/Waitlist letters will be distributed electronically through SchoolMint by Friday, February 14th. If a student is admitted, parents are asked to sign and submit their intent to enroll form electronically through SchoolMint by Tuesday, March 24th. Parents must submit an enrollment packet via SchoolMint which includes important health and proof of residency documents by Thursday, May 28th. We look forward to receiving your application. If you have any questions or would like more information, please email us at admissions@phillyscholars.org or call 215-232-9727.
